Mr. Christopher Keavy
Mr. Christopher Keavy arrived on Cape in 2006 in order to lead the planning process which resulted in the opening of Pope John Paul II High School in 2007. In 2013, he was named Head of School of St. John Paul II High School and St. Francis Xavier Preparatory School. In 2018, he was named President of St. Margaret Primary School, St. Francis Xavier Preparatory School, and St. John Paul II High School. He also teaches Introduction to Western Philosophy.
He is a member of the Commission on Independent Schools of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, and has led numerous Visiting Committees at Catholic high schools throughout New England.
Previously, Mr. Keavy worked at Cleveland’s Padua Franciscan High School as Theology Department Chairperson and Principal of the 1100-student school. He also taught and ministered in Catholic schools and service agencies in Detroit, Michigan.
Mr. Keavy holds a B.A. from Assumption College (Politics, Philosophy), an M.A. from Boston College (Philosophy), and an M.A. in Educational Administration from Ursuline College in Pepper Pike, Ohio.
He and his family are parishioners of St. Pius X Church in South Yarmouth.
Ms. Mona Lisa Valentino
Ms. Mona Lisa Valentino joined the school's administration team in 2012.
Previously, she taught science for ten years at Mashpee High School, including a summer web-based curriculum for science and English. Ms. Valentino entered the education field following a career marketing for Digital Equipment Corporation and Compaq Computer Corporation.
She earned her undergraduate degree from Fairfield University and her Master's Degree from Lesley University. Ms. Valentino and her daughter, a 2011 graduate of Pope John Paul II High School, worship at Christ the King Parish in Mashpee.
Dr. AJ Ballou
As Assistant Principal, Dr. Andrew J. Ballou assists Ms. Valentino in daily operations and specifically oversees the school’s academic program.
Dr. Ballou holds a BA from Maryville College (TN), an MTS from the Iliff School of Theology (CO), an MA from the University of Colorado at Boulder, and a PhD in American History from Boston University. Before starting at JPII, he taught history as an adjunct professor at Bridgewater State University, Northeastern University, and BU. Dr. Ballou divides his Sundays between Cotuit Federated Church, where his wife Rev. Angela Menke Ballou is pastor, and West Falmouth Friends Meeting.
